I thought about this most of the night. What compels a man to do something NO ONE has ever done before. Not to follow, except his own precepts or principles or dreams, but to be the ONLY ONE.
So few have done it.
Sir Edmund Hillary.
Ernest Shakelton.
Joseph Smith.
I honor Hillary today and will endeavor to do so every day in some manner or another.
I remain,
Jarret M. Sharp
PS - NASA plans to put a man on Mars NLT 2031. Let's make sure he's a Yank.

I think I am the ONLY one that talks Donald Duck to her grandchildren over the phone. What do you think of that?? No, truly each one of us is unique and there are things that only we can do. It may not be as marvelous as Shackelford's journey to the antarctic, but it is something only we can do. God, as our father, made us that way. It is up to us to discover our unique abilities and put them to good use. That is another way of saying we have POTENTIAL.
Sometimes our special unique accomplishment is being at the right place at the right time to share a laugh, give a needed hug, bear witness to truth, dry a tear. Hopefully we are in tune to the promptings that will lead us to these sacred moments and we can recognize them for what they are.
Carry on!
I just remembered that I put "Shackelford" in my comment to you and it should have been Shackelton. You know, I had a friend named Mel Shackelford in the horse world, and I always make that mistake! Sorry about that. I knew who I meant! (senior moment...)
